Welcome to Ottawa Old Farts, Family & Friends Soccer

The group started in 1999 with a bunch of soccer dads whose boys were playing indoor soccer at the Oz Dome. While watching their kids play, the fathers came to the realization “We can do this”. Tim Reich formed the first group with Bill Munn, John Dolson and others playing at midnight on Fridays. Since then, the club has become more inclusive in age, gender and playing ability, whilst maintaining the culture of sportmanship, recreational play and just plain having fun. 2024/2025 Soccer Season

Start: 2nd October 2024

End Date: 30th April 2025

Every Wednesday 9:30PM to 10:30PM

Location: Sooners Megadome (55X30m)

Basic Rules

This is a recreational group, no serious play. Special kudos for passes made to less gifted/less experienced players.
No aggressive play permitted – no hard tackles, no sliding tackles.
Shin pads and soccer boots suitable for artificial turf must be worn.
Different teams picked each week.
Although not mandatory, regular attendance is encouraged.
No direct free kicks, indirect free kicks only. Offside rule does not apply. Kick ins, replace throw ins. Otherwise regular FIFA rules apply.
All players are required to play all positions – no favourites. Rotating goalkeepers are recommended, (everyone is encouraged to take a shift), except where your goalie insists on staying in net.
In the unlikely event that there are more players than capacity permits, priority will be given to players that have paid for the full year and the last player to arrive that pay per game may not be able to play. This is to maintain quality of experience for all. Capacity is 21 (3 teams of 7 players).
